Preiss Imports is a third-generational specialty spirits importer company that has been responsible for some of the country’s most pivotal spirits breakthroughs. Fueled by their commitment, courage, and an innate sense for world-class, artisanal products, they have been bringing exceptional products made by exceptional people to the market for over 50 years.   

Background

Ugly Mug was founded by James Landis. With 30 years in the industry, Ugly Mug was originally part of his William Wolf line of flavored whiskies. He later decided to make the coffee whiskey its own brand after it gained a cult following.

While quality has always been of utmost importance, James and team wanted the coffee flavored whiskey to be a fun, relatable brand. They didn’t take themselves too seriously and even included “mug shots” of people holding their whiskey bottles to promote the brand. Ugly Mug was made for the people and continues with this ethos as a stand alone brand many years later.
